How Our Giving Organization Works
NB Women GO brings together women with shared values who pool their contributions to create a greater impact than they could individually. Members work together to identify and support local nonprofit organizations, ensuring that funding decisions reflect the priorities of the community.
Through this collaborative approach:

Members donate annually.

Local nonprofits submit their grant requests each year, along with a 2-minute video.

Members gather at our Spring voting event to watch the videos, engage in discussion. and vote on how funds are awarded.

Grants are distributed to the organizations with the most votes in each category.
Beyond financial support, members may also build connections, learn about community needs, and engage more deeply in local philanthropy.
How Our Voting Works
Donation level determines the number of votes per category as follows:
• $250 donation: 1 vote per category
• $500 donation: 2 votes per category
• $750 donation: 3 votes per category
• $1,000 donation: 4 votes per category
• One-time $12,500 donation (Lifetime donor): 4 votes per category
Voters make one selection per category. All allocated votes for that category are automatically applied to that single selection. Votes may not be split across multiple choices.

Enrollment & Funding Timeline
NB Women GO operates on an annual cycle similar to a school year, with our enrollment period running from May 1 through February 15.
During this time, our community comes together to give, knowing each contribution builds toward something bigger. There’s a shared excitement as we watch our collective impact grow throughout the year.
We intentionally close enrollment in mid‑February so we can determine the total funds available and move forward with clarity and transparency—because that total is what we will award together.
Following the close of enrollment:

Nonprofit organizations generally submit grant requests from mid‑February through mid‑March

Applications are reviewed and prepared for member consideration

In April, members gather to vote and select grant recipients
This is the moment it all comes together—the culmination of a full year of giving. We come together, make our selections, and celebrate alongside the nonprofits whose work will carry our impact forward.

Note: Donations received after the February 15th deadline will be considered pre-payment for the next voting cycle.
